Delete your Dovor account

You can delete your Dovor account and the data tied to it at any time, free of charge and with no reason needed. There are two ways: in the app itself, or with a request right here.

In the app

The quickest way: the account is deleted straight away.

Open the Dovor app and sign in.
Tap Settings in the bottom bar.
Scroll to the foot of the screen and tap Delete my account.
Confirm. You may be asked to sign in again, for security.

The same option is also in Dovor's settings on the computer.

Without the app, on this page

If the app is no longer installed or you cannot sign in, request the deletion here.

Enter your Dovor account's email address.
We send that address a confirmation link, valid for 48 hours. That is how we know the request is yours.
Once confirmed, we delete the account within 15 days and let you know by email.

What is erased

Your profile: name, email, phone, WhatsApp number and onboarding answers.
Your sign-in: the login (email and password, Google or Apple) stops existing.
Your reading: progress, saved tales, highlights and notes.
Your conversations with support and the files you sent.
Ratings, survey answers and tale requests.
Notification tokens and the app's usage counters.
Your sign-up to the site's newsletter, if any.

What is kept, and for how long

Records of purchases, subscriptions and gifts: 5 years, for tax and consumer-law obligations, with your name and email removed.
A minimal record that the account was closed (date, a partly masked email and the reason, if you gave one) and, when the request is made on this page, the request itself: 5 years, to show it was honoured.
Access logs: 6 months, as required by Brazilian law (Marco Civil da Internet).
Backups: deleted data leaves them within 30 days.

If you have a subscription

Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription bought on the App Store or Google Play: cancel it in the store first, or the charges continue. Purchased tales and Premium access are no longer available after deletion.
